Agricultural expansion movement: a study on southeastern Pará between 2000 and 2016

The article aims to analyze the development of the agricultural structure in Southeast Pará, motivated by understanding the processes of expansion of this sector in the last two decades. Constituted through a historical analysis of the period from 2000 to 2016, based on authors who discuss the region and secondary data, so that it can demonstrate the advance of agricultural production in the region. The analysis showed that southeast Pará is entering international trade and that its lands are in a process of capitalization through speculation and production of commodities. Therefore, this advance of the border leads to a land market surrounded by conflicts between traditional peoples and large landowners, as a process of economic integration has been established that does not integrate regional society in all its aspects and makes the region remain dependent on the external sector.
