Wage discrimination in the State of Rio de Janeiro: An analysis of natives and migrants by race and sex in 2015

World and Brazilian history is marked by migratory flows from different cities, regions and countries that can lead to wage discrimination between native and migrant populations. As in Brazil, states such as Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo had a significant reception of migrants, this article aims to identify, in the case of Rio de Janeiro, the discrimination in wages between natives and migrants by race and sex in 2015. For this purpose, the Oaxaca-Blinder wage decomposition method from the 2015 National Household Sample Survey (PNAD) microdata base was applied. In a discussion of the results, a notorious wage gap was identified between natives and migrants, whites and non-whites, as well as between men and women.
