Networks structure territory nowadays, especially technical ones. Circulation is a type of these networks and operates through different modes. Air mode is one of the most important ones and incorporates biggest technical advances and fluidity perspective. This work aims to analyze theoretical contributions regarding the theme of “technical networks” connected to the study of the object called “tourist / passengers by air transport”. A qualitative, exploratory and bibliographic research was done. Key concepts were used. They come mainly from Geography related to air transport approached by tourism perspective. These concepts provide a synthesis whereby it is possible to propose an initial reflection by pointing some relationships out. The relationships between hierarchies of air transport network and hierarchies of urban network are examples. Some gaps for broader comprehension of air transport in contemporary Brazilian and South-American situation are also approached. This discussion offers elements for interventions focused on development.
