The territorial approach was institutionalized in Brazil with the implementation of the National Program for Sustainable Territorial Development (PRONAT) in 2003 and the Territorial Citizenship Program (PTC) in 2008. The objective was to enable the organization of family farming and indigenous communities and quilombolas, by means of a collegiate of territorial development, forum of debates and planning of strategies to propose actions inducing productive dynamics with capacity to generate social inclusion and to reconfigure the development of the territory. In the Territory of Grande Dourados (MS) the actions of the Association of Organic Producers of Mato Grosso do Sul (APOMS) assumed characteristics of the territorial approach.
