Aspects of the Political and Economic Development of Guyana

This article aims to analyze some aspects of politics and economics developments of Guyana, a little south-American country located in the extreme north of the subcontinent. Having your pass linked with Holland and England, the Guyana only achieved your independence in 1966, in a context of increasing of the social movements, excited about the construction of a new nation, and the opposition of United States, trying to block the propagation of socialist’s ideas and the Guianese foreign policy attached of the soviet bloc. The search for a nationalized and planned economy was incessant, although with much less results than expect.
