Social, political and economic formation in Brazil: thoughts of Celso Furtado, Raúl Prebisch and Cepal

This article aims to discuss the social, political and economic formation in Brazil, Development and Underdevelopment based on Celso Furtado and Raúl Prebisch and the performance of ECLAC. The first section presents the social, political and economic formation in Brazil from the authors Caio Prado Junior (1994) and Maria Yedda Leite Linhares (1996), from the colonial period to the 21st century. The second section addresses the authors Celso Furtado and Raúl Prebisch, from their actions to their contributions to the understanding of development and underdevelopment. In the last section, ECLACs performance and influence in recent years are discussed. Such approaches are justified because they allow us to understand that Brazil faces economic challenges that involve the search for economic stability, implementation of structural reforms and the need to reduce social difficulties, such as inequality and poverty. At the same time, understand that the diversified economy reflects the countrys complexity.
