Based on a synthetic presentation of propositions and experiences of a territorial planning tool and its implementation and appropriation, this paper seeks to outline some characteristics that may indicate its innovative character. The subject of this discussion is the Green and Blue Plot drawn up in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, in France, and adopted in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, in Minas Gerais. By presenting some similarities and particularities of the plot, it is intended to contribute to the reflection on challenges and perspectives for future reinterpretations and applications. It is argued, based on a brief incorporation of the relevant bibliography, that this tool can point to the construction of another planning logic that considers the relationships between environmental, urban and social issues as a condition for facing the challenges imposed by the current urban nexus. metropolitan, guided by the rationalities of economic globalization.
