The Amazon region has served to deepen the neo-extractivist productive profile of Brazil and the Latin American continent. Profile that increasingly depends on the flexibilization of territorial rights and environmental regulations and the precariousness of the workforce. It is in this context of social decomposition and environmental devastation that it intends to dimension, in an initial and exploratory way, the predominant uses of royalties (minerals and energy) in cities in the Legal Amazon, seeking to establish correlations from education and health indicators. Our hypothesis is that compensations, disconnected from transversal socio-environmental policies, end up reinforcing the condition of imprisoned and functionalized spaces of the receiving municipalities, feeding back their dependence on primary-export activities, sterilizing coalitions that have in their horizon technological and socio-ecological reconversions or transitions.
