Railway, integration and territorial development: Analysis of the (un) official proposal behind the Chinese myth

The text presents the real history of the bi-oceanic railway project, behind the official Chinese initiative. Analyze the reasons why the proposal did not go ahead in its implementation. Also, it evidences the economic viability of the project and maintains that the turning point was the modification of the initial approach that was from a private initiative, under a development and territorial integration perspective, towards a public investment approach, under a logistics corridor perspective, without connections with the development of the territory
