Analysis of public expenditure in fighting the covid-19 pandemic: The case of the state of Mato Grosso

The research problem around the following question: What is the impact of the pandemic on public spending in the state of Mato Grosso, on the actions that aimed to meet the demands arising from the pandemic caused by Covid-19 in the period of March 2020 to March 2021? The overall objective was to analyze public spending on coping with the Covid-19 pandemic carried out by the Government of the State of Mato Grosso in the respective period. The methodology employed is characterized as research of a qualitative nature in terms of approach and descriptive in terms of objectives. About data collection procedures, their nature was documental, with the investigative strategy being based on a case study. In general, the results indicate that there was no impact on state public spending, since the crisis resulting from the pandemic in the period studied was financially circumvented by state management.
