The article discusses aspects of insufficiency, and even the lack, of articulation and / or coordination elements between regional and sectoral development policies in Brazil, as well as between them and the resource sharing system in the current Brazilian federalism. Moreover, it shows how the low political priority given to the issue of regional development by the federal executive branch translates into little change of regional productive structures and, therefore, in maintaining the relative economic inequality framework. When thematic public policies are designed to operate in low-development regions, they generally do not interact with each other or with the explicit regional policies. The regional policy articulation effort with other policies, particularly with those supporting the productive sector, although extended in recent years, is still sparse and underexposed.
