Territorialization in Primary Care and strategic thinking in prevention and health promotion

The present study aims to investigate the importance of territorialization in the planning of Primary Health Care services and actions, reflecting the apprehension of the territory and its specificities as an important axis in the construction of action strategies in health promotion and prevention. Through a bibliographic review, the strategic thinking of planning based on Territorialization in Health and the forms and techniques for mapping and analyzing the specificities of the territory are explained. It is possible to observe that this instrument contributes a lot to improve the effectiveness of primary health care services, which is considered a gateway to the SUS. Because it enables the prevention of risks and injuries to the health of the community, through territorial diagnoses, more adequate planning and, consequently, more effective health surveillance for the needs of the territory in which it operates.
