The present article claims the Brazilian urban struggle perspective on a local ethnographical typology. By interviewing women that are leaderships on a Brazilian occupation, it was possible to understand a part of the context that led them to the actual situation and understand the social categories that conforms them. It was chosen an oral life history method as an attempt to comprehend the urban struggle from inside. As a conclusion, there is a speech analysis of the interviews by analytical categories: insurgency and empowerment.
